Blessed 21st :)

I guess it is time to update on my 21st Birthday.

I must say my 20th year had been good to me, experiencing exchange and gaining so many friends and how I've changed from it all.

And the best part of it was that my friends in Singapore are still the same old, funny group of people who are my pillar of support. I count my blessings to have them in my life and sometimes I really wonder why am I so lucky.

So for my 21st birthday party, I invited my closest groups of friends for a birthday picnic which I had spent almost 1 month preparing for. I guess I'm one of those few people who planned and prepared everything myself for the party. Some lucky ones may have family and boyfriend doing it for them but I didn't really mind doing it as I like planning all these details. It's as if 家家酒, like what dajie said. An independent 21 got to be independent afterall! *proud*

Before this I had decided not to celebrate my 21st with a big hooha and save the money up instead. However, I thought that it's really a once-in-a-lifetime birthday party one can ever have that all her friends will really pay attention to and make an effort to turn up for it. And it will be really fun planning a cool party for them. Another reason is because I wanted to take this chance to thank all my friends and family for being there for me, at one point or another in my 20 years of life. So this party was not to celebrate me, but them. I was really careful when deciding on my guest list haha. Only the closest friends were invited so feel honoured! ;)

During the party I was too busy setting up and stuff and Xianglong kept asking me to chill and attend to the guests. I really thank him for that. I was so busy doing things that now I don't even remember what I was doing. But I guess I still had fun in the process and I hope that my guests had had fun entertaining themselves. I was really thankful for the good weather too. I checked the weather forecast the night before and it predicted a thunderstorm in the afternoon omg. It got me so worried I went to pray (after not doing it since I came back from germany). And I'm really glad that my prayers were answered! :D The weather had been really good without it being too hot and humid and the rain only came after we got the car! :D I think I'm a really blessed girl. :)))

There are many people who I'm thankful towards for my 21st birthday party. Firstly, it's my family who carried all my stuff to the gardens which was really not easy, and also packing up while I said goodbye to my friends. Secondly, it is Chingyee who accompanied me to botanic gardens to recce for a good spot and also shopping for my bday outfit! Thirdly would be Xianglong, my awesome photographer and UC ogl. Although I keep telling people UC sucks every year, I've never regretted joining it because of the awesome people I've met. I'm really glad that I crashed the right og! Although we seldom meet up and stuff, we're those people who will still behave like we've been good friends since forever. :) Xianglong is one of the kindest friend I've made, who will go all out for his friend. Really appreciate him. And also people like junjie, weihao and Jacky. :) Thirdly, it is those last few friends who stayed on helping me to pack up! Thanks a lot! :D Somehow, I feel like I'm always on the receiving end in a friendship and I really hope that I've given back in one way or another!

In many of the wishes my friends and family wrote, they wished that I can get a bf soon. Hahah. I think I've been getting that a lot since secondary school days (other than for me to grow taller) and it's not stopping, isit? I'm not sure if it's because exchange has changed me but I no longer see a need to get attached. I really enjoy the freedom of singlehood now, doing whatever I want and like. I guess I just don't like commitment, or maybe it's because I haven't met any that I want to commit to. So yea, my main focus is on studies now I really wanna graduate well and not have any regrets. Afterall, I'm still proud that I managed to enter NUS Biz and I want to do well in it. :)

School is starting next week and I'm really hoping for a good 21st! :D
